Dimitris Metafas was born in
From 1995 to 2001 he was working in INTRACOM S. A. in the management of Research and Development projects in the area of Microelectronics, System-On-a-Chip (SoC) application specific processors design, Embedded Systems design, and Real-Time software development for Wireless Broadband and Mobile Communications applications. He has participated in many ESPRIT and IST international projects.
From 2001 to 2003 he was the Real-Time Software area leader of the Development Programmes Department of INTRACOM S. A.
From 2003 to 2006 he was an Embedded Systems Group Leader in INTRACOM’s Multi-service Networks Strategic Business Unit, Content Delivery Systems Department.
From 2003 to 2006 he was Adjunct Assistant Professor of Athens Information Technology Center of Excellence (AIT).
From 2007 το 2011 was Assistant Professor in AIT, head of the Embedded Systems Lab.
From 2011 is a Lecturer in TEI of Piraueus, Dpt. of Electronics.
His expertise is in Real-Time Software development, System-On-a-Chip design, DSP architectures, Wireless Communications, and Hardware/Software co-development methodologies. His current research interests include embedded systems for Broadband services over DSL technology, Content Distribution Networks and Sensor Networks.
He is author/co-author of more than 30 papers in International Journals and Conferences.
